Global Search
Find anything in your workspace — activities, announcements, topics — without leaving the page you're on.
What It Is
Global Search is a keyboard-triggered command palette that searches across every activity, announcement, and piece of chatter in your workspace. Use it when you remember something happened — a post, an article, an announcement — but don't remember where to look.
A search bar that's available from anywhere in QB. Press ⌘ + K from any page, or click the search button in the top-right of the page header.
How to Open It
Two ways to open the search palette from any page:
| Method | Where |
|---|---|
| Keyboard | ⌘ + K |
| Search button | Top-right of every page header — labelled Search... |
Press Esc or click outside the modal to close without searching.
The keyboard shortcut uses the ⌘ (Command) key on Mac. On Windows, use the Search... button in the page header.
What You'll See
When the modal opens with no query typed, three default sections appear:
| Section | What's Shown |
|---|---|
| Recent searches | Up to 3 of your most recent searches, stored locally on your device |
| Suggestions | Pre-set common queries: Rumors, Overvalued, Negative press |
| Recent announcements | Up to 5 of your company's most recent ASX announcements from the last 6 months |
Click any item to run it as a search.
Searching
Type a query of 3 or more characters to trigger a live AI-matched search. Results are semantic — they return content that's conceptually related to your search term, not just exact keyword matches.
For example, searching for capital raise returns posts about fundraising, equity placements, share dilution, and similar topics — even when those posts don't contain the exact phrase.
Once you start typing, the modal updates with two parallel options:
| Option | What It Does |
|---|---|
Search for {query} (top) | Opens the full Search page filtered to your query |
| Top Results (below) | Up to 5 of the most relevant activities matched live |
Each top result shows:
- Source icon — the platform (Twitter, LinkedIn, Reddit, ASX, etc.)
- Title or content preview
- Source name — publisher or author
- Date — when the activity was posted
Selecting a Result
| Selection | What Happens |
|---|---|
| Click a Top Result | Opens the full Search page with that activity pre-selected for detailed viewing |
Click "Search for {query}" | Opens the full Search page with all matching results |
| Click a Suggestion | Treats the suggestion text as your query and opens the Search page |
| Click a Recent search | Re-runs that search and opens the Search page |
| Click a Recent announcement | Opens the Search page filtered by the announcement title |
Selecting any item closes the modal and navigates to the full Search page where you can refine further.
Recent Searches
Your last 3 searches are saved in your browser's local storage. They appear at the top of the modal when it opens with no query typed.
Recent searches are stored per-device. They don't sync across machines or with your team. Clearing your browser data will reset the list.
